 This year we are celebrating 25 years of growing and equipping leaders through the Wilderness Institute for Leadership Development. Our desire is to connect the foundations of the past with the path of the future. W.I.L.D. was born in 1984 to develop leaders that could effectively use the wilderness as a context for ministry with their own groups. Over the years, the transferability of the leadership curriculum became apparent, broadening the program's impact to leaders from every context... ministry, education, business and the rest of life.
 How are we celebrating? We will spend time on Saturday and Sunday during each of the 2009 W.I.L.D. events remembering what God has done over the past 25 years with a primary focus on the people and relationships that have impacted us. We will also begin to look forward to the path He has set before us in the years to come. Here are some things to look forward to:
- Alumni and staff testimonies (If you are a W.I.L.D. or staff alumnus and cannot make the trip, see below)
- Multimedia presentation on the history of W.I.L.D.
- Special giveaways from various gear vendors
 Extra gear and memorabilia goodies from Pilgrimage- Special edition W.I.L.D. Manual
- An intense week of learning in a multilevel leadership environment
- Expert instruction by Dr. Dennis Wilhite (founder) and Dwight Peterson (W.I.L.D. Director)
Alumni and former staff... If you are unable to block a whole week out for the trip, we would still love to have you involved in the Saturday and Sunday festivities. There is no cost for you to do so. The blessing of having you there is enough! We will feed and shelter you at base camp and you will have the opportunity to participate in the instruction sessions. As you can imagine, we may take the liberty to get you involved in providing testimonies or investing in the program from your experience. If you can make the trip, we are providing a $100 discount for all W.I.L.D. alumni this year that can be stacked on top of any other W.I.L.D. discounts!
